Hammer and Tongs - South African Braai and Wine

BRAAI! [grill (meat) over an open fire] I haven't been to South Africa so can't tell you what an authentic Braai is, however what I can tell you is the level of detail that the folks of @hammer_tongs go to to create a wonderful BBQ meal is extraordinary. Wood for the grill imported from Namibia, all the breads, sauces and marinades are made in house and they serve exclusively South African Wine - their Wine Cellar is a must see!


MY FIRST EVER Boerewors and it was served with Monkey Gland sauce - superb! And the Braai is served with Braaibroodjie (bread - flame toasted sandwich with cheese, onion, tomato, relish), now that is a special BBQ delight. It’s all deeelicious folks, head down to #Faringdon for a special treat!


I had the Dirty Braai platter of pork ribs, spicy chicken wings with Biltong and a selection of the special “Sosaties” (skewers) and Boerewors. Their menu has entrees, vegetarian, platters and more to choose from to make a small meal or a big group share a pleasure.


These folk know how to flame cook, have some special ingredients and techniques up their sleeve to really create a special bit of BBQ for you. A couple or a group - well worth the adventure.
